About us

Environmental Restoration Ecology

At ERE Consultants we are dedicated to protecting and restoring South Africa’s natural ecosystems through expert tree care and ecological services. Specialising in PSHB (Polyphagous Shot Hole Borer) assessments, comprehensive tree surveys, invasive species evaluations, and ecological restoration, we bring a science-based, hands-on approach to every project.

Our team combines deep ecological knowledge with practical field experience to help landowners of agricultural properties, residential estates, private residences, as well as environmental organisations to manage and protect their green assets. Whether it's identifying and mitigating PSHB infestations, surveying urban and rural tree populations, assessing the impact of invasive species, or restoring degraded landscapes, we deliver solutions that are both effective and sustainable. Our work combines on-the-ground surveys with GIS and ecological modelling to generate data-driven, actionable insights.

At our core, we believe in working with nature—not against it. Every project is guided by our commitment to biodiversity, long-term resilience, and the responsible stewardship of the environment.

I am an ecologist holding a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biodiversity and Ecology, disciplined in invasive species ecology, global change biology, and urban forest management. My research focuses on understanding and mitigating the ecological impacts of biological invasions, particularly within the context of climate change and habitat transformation. A particular focus of mine has been the Polyphagous Shot-Hole Borer (PSHB) which has been degrading urban and natural ecosystems for a number of years. The use of predictive epidemiological models allowed me to understand the current and future impacts that this invasive pest may have in the coming years.

Another aspect of my work involves the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for spatial analysis, ecological mapping and tracking the progression of invasions. These skills allow me to develop proactive management strategies and data-driven solutions for clients when faced with the ecological threats that invasive species pose.

I am passionate about bridging the gap between science and practice by integrating research insights into practical conservation actions and policy frameworks.

I am an ecologist holding a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biodiversity and Ecology, with a strong academic and practical foundation in invasion biology and spatial ecology. This background has provided me with critical ecological insight and technical proficiency, which I have applied across a range of field-based and spatial analysis projects. I have completed formal training in risk analysis through the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) and have authored multiple risk analyses for invasive species within the South African context.

My professional interests lie in the protection of native ecosystems, the restoration of biodiversity, and the development of science-based, practical strategies for invasive species management and long-term ecological resilience.
